Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium-high heat until browned and crumbled. Drain excess fat.
Stir in the softened cream cheese and mix well to combine. Set aside.
Unroll crescent rolls and press into the bottom of the prepared baking dish, sealing seams with fingers.
Spread the sausage and cream cheese mixture over the crescent roll dough.
In a large bowl, whisk eggs and pour over sausage mixture. Top with 1 1/2 cups of cheddar cheese.
Bake for 30-40 minutes or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
Remove from the oven and sprinkle with remaining cheddar cheese. Let it stand for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
This casserole can be made a day in advance and baked just before serving. Pair it with a fresh green salad for a complete meal.
