Cake

  • 1 box Yellow Cake Mix Duncan Hines recommended
  • 4 oz Instant Vanilla Pudding small box
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 1 cup Water

Icing

  • 1 cup Butter
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 0.25 cup Milk
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Pecan Pieces

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, combine cake mix, pudding mix, eggs, oil, and water. Beat with an electric mixer until well combined.
  • Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • While the cake is baking, prepare the icing. In a saucepan, melt butter. Add sugar and milk, and bring to a boil. Boil for 1 minute, stirring constantly.
  • Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and pecans.
  • As soon as the cake comes out of the oven, pour the icing evenly over the top. Let cool completely before serving.
