Lemon Bars Recipe

This lemon bars recipe is the perfect combination of tangy and sweet for a refreshing dessert.

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 2 cups granulated sugar divided
  • 1 cup lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • 4 large eggs

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a medium bowl, mix together the flour, softened butter, and half of the sugar.

  • Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan.
  • Bake for 15 to 20 minutes in the preheated oven, or until firm and golden.
  • In another bowl, whisk together the remaining sugar and lemon juice with eggs. Pour over the baked crust.

  • Return to the oven for 20 minutes. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

For a little garnish, add a sprinkle of powdered sugar before serving.
