This recipe shows you how to make delicious homemade pizza dough from scratch. It's easy, requires minimal ingredients, and yields a perfectly chewy crust.
In a large bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
Add flour and salt to the yeast mixture. Stir until a shaggy dough forms.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Add a little more flour if needed.
Lightly oil a large bowl. Place the dough in the bowl, turning to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
