Prep : 10 Total : 25 minutes

Ingredients

Main Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon onion powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon smoked paprika or cayenne pepper optional

Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Combine ground beef with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder in a large bowl.
  • Gently mix the ingredients using your hands until just combined—avoid overworking the meat.
  • Form into 4 equal patties, slightly larger than your buns, and make a small indentation in the center of each to prevent bulging during cooking.
  • Season both sides generously just before grilling or pan-searing for enhanced flavor.
  • Cook over medium-high heat for about 3–4 minutes per side for medium doneness.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding Worcestershire sauce or a splash of soy sauce to the mixture.
