Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and onion until beef is browned and cooked through, about 8–10 minutes. Drain excess fat.
Add garlic, tomato sauce, water, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper to the skillet. Stir well and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
Cook macaroni according to package directions until al dente. Drain and add to the meat mixture in the skillet. Stir to combine.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle with 1½ cups of cheddar cheese and the Parmesan cheese on top.
Bake uncovered for 20–25 minutes, or until bubbly and cheese is melted and lightly golden.
Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
Serve hot with a side salad or crusty bread for a complete meal.
