Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
In a separate bowl, cream together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil until light and fluffy.
Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pan before frosting.

This cake is best served with a cream cheese frosting or a simple dusting of powdered sugar.
