  • 0.25 tsp Ground Cloves
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 1 cup Granulated Sugar
  • 0.5 cup Brown Sugar Packed.
  • 0.5 cup Vegetable Oil
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 1 cup Buttermilk

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the gluten-free flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt.
  • In a separate bowl, cream together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and vegetable oil until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the buttermilk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let cool in the pan before frosting.

Notes

This cake is best served with a cream cheese frosting or a simple dusting of powdered sugar.
