Pat the chicken wings completely dry with paper towels. Dry wings are essential for crispiness.
In a large bowl, combine baking powder, salt, garlic powder, paprika, and black pepper. Add the wings and toss to coat evenly. For extra crisp, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil and mix well.
Place the wings in the air fryer basket in a single layer, leaving space between each wing. Work in batches if necessary.
Air fry at 380°F (193°C) for 20–25 minutes, flipping the wings halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
Remove wings from the air fryer and let rest for 2–3 minutes. Toss with sauce if desired, or serve plain with dipping sauces on the side.
