Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
Mix in the diced tomatoes and chili powder with the beef. Simmer for 5 minutes.
Transfer the beef mixture to a 9x13 inch baking dish. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Prepare the cornbread mix according to package instructions and spread over the cheese layer.
Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes or until cornbread is golden brown.
Notes
This dish can be served with a side of sour cream and chopped green onions for extra flavor.
