- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 6 large eggs room temperature
- 3 cups all-purpose flour sifted
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon fine salt
- 1 cup whole milk room temperature

Instructions
Heat the oven to 325°F. Grease and flour a 10-inch tube pan.
Beat the softened butter and sugar until pale and fluffy, about 4 minutes.
Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
Whisk the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the dry mixture to the batter in three additions, alternating with milk; mix vanilla through at the end.
Pour into the prepared pan and smooth the top. Bake until golden and a skewer comes out with a few moist crumbs, about 70 minutes.
Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then turn out onto a rack and cool completely before slicing.
