chocolate fudge

A rich and decadent chocolate fudge recipe that's easy to make and perfect for any occasion.

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter cut into pieces
  • 0.5 cup evaporated milk
  • 4 ounces semisweet chocolate chopped
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts optional

Preparation Steps

  • In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine sugar, butter, and evaporated milk.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until sugar is dissolved and butter is melted.
  • Bring to a boil and cook, stirring constantly, for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the chopped chocolate until melted and smooth.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract and walnuts, if using.
  • Pour the mixture into a buttered 8x8 inch baking pan.
  • Let cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

Store fudge in an airtight container at room temperature.
