Chicken Mac and Cheese

A creamy, cheesy chicken mac and cheese recipe, perfect for a comforting weeknight meal.

  • 1 lb Cooked chicken breast
  • 12 oz Elbow macaroni
  • 3 cups Milk
  • 2 cups Shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.5 cup Butter
  • 0.5 cup All-purpose flour
  • 0.5 tsp Salt
  • 0.25 tsp Black pepper

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook macaroni according to package directions.
  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Whisk in flour and cook for 1 minute.
  • Gradually whisk in milk until smooth. Bring to a simmer, stirring constantly. Reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, or until thickened.
  • Stir in cheddar cheese, salt, and pepper until melted and smooth. Stir in cooked chicken and macaroni.
  • Pour into a greased baking dish. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until bubbly and golden brown.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a sprinkle of paprika before baking.
