Instructions
Preparation Steps
In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
Add olive oil, flour, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead for 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, turning to coat. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Punch down the dough and roll it out to about 1/4 inch thickness. Cut into desired breadstick shapes.
Place breadsticks on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes
Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauce.
