In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
Add the diced onion and minced garlic to the pot and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in the crushed tomatoes, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer, then reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for at least 1 hour, or up to 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
Serve over cooked spaghetti and enjoy!
Notes
For a richer flavor, add a tablespoon of tomato paste or a bay leaf while simmering. You can also add other vegetables like diced carrots or celery.
