Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until a soft dough forms.
Press the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
Bake for 16–18 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the center is set.
Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. These bars also freeze well for up to 2 months.
