Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak with Mushroom Gravy

  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs plain
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 8 ounces mushrooms sliced
  • 1 medium yellow onion sliced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 packet brown gravy mix
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

  • Mix beef, egg, breadcrumbs, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until just combined. Shape into six oval patties.
  • Heat oil in a skillet and brown the patties for 2 to 3 minutes per side; they do not need to cook through.
  • Place mushrooms and onion in the slow cooker. Arrange the browned patties on top.
  • Whisk broth, gravy mix, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce together, then pour over the patties.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 5 hours, until the patties are tender and reach 160°F in the center.
  • Rest for 5 minutes, then spoon the mushroom gravy over the patties and serve.
