Shepherd's Pie Recipe

Main Ingredients
- 1.5 lb Ground beef
- 1 large Onion, chopped
- 2 cups Carrots, chopped
- 2 cups Peas
- 0.5 cup Beef broth
- 2 tbsp Tomato paste
- 2 lbs Russet potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 0.5 cup Milk
- 2 tbsp Butter
Preparation Steps
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess fat.
Add the onion, carrots, and peas to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
Stir in the beef broth and tomato paste. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, or until the sauce has thickened.
While the meat simmers, boil the potatoes until tender. Drain and mash with milk and butter.
Pour the meat mixture into a baking dish. Top with the mashed potatoes.
Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes, or until the potatoes are golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
