A hearty and comforting pork chop casserole with creamy mashed potatoes and a savory gravy. Perfect for a weeknight dinner.

  • 2 pounds potatoes peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 0.5 cup chicken broth
  • 1 small onion chopped
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese optional

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Season the pork chops with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

  • In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, layer the sliced potatoes and chopped onion.

  • Place the seasoned pork chops on top of the potato and onion mixture.

  • In a small bowl, whisk together the heavy cream and chicken broth. Pour evenly over the pork chops and potatoes.

  • Cover the baking dish tightly with foil.
  • Bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove the foil, sprinkle with cheddar cheese if desired, and bake for another 15-20 minutes, or until the pork chops are cooked through and the potatoes are tender.
