Ingredients

Ingredients

  • 12 slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
  • 1 cup pizza or pasta sauce
  • 6 ounces pepperoni slices
  • 8 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese sliced into 12 pieces
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese grated
  • 1/4 cup butter melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease the bottom of a 9-by-13-inch baking pan and set it aside.
  • Cut the buns in half and set the tops aside. Place the bottom half of the rolls in the prepared pan and top with the sauce. Add pepperoni to each roll, then slice the fresh mozzarella into 12 pieces and place one on each roll. Return the top half of the rolls.
  • In a small bowl, combine the Parmesan, melted butter, garlic powder, basil, and oregano. Spread the seasoned butter over the tops of the rolls. Cover with foil and bake for 20 to 25 minutes.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbly. Serve immediately.

Notes

Keep the foil on for the first part of baking so the rolls warm through while the cheese melts.
Optional variation: replace some pepperoni with cooked mushrooms or sliced olives while keeping the same sauce and cheese method.
