These pecan pie bars are a delicious treat, combining a flaky shortbread crust with a sweet, nutty pecan topping. Perfect for any occasion!

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup butter melted
  • 0.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups pecans chopped
  • 1 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 cup corn syrup
  • 3 eggs beaten

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a bowl, mix together the flour, melted butter, and granulated sugar until well combined. Press the mixture evenly into a greased 9x13 inch baking dish to form the crust.
  • Bake the crust for 15 minutes, then remove it from the oven to cool slightly.
  • In another bowl, combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, and beaten eggs. Stir in the chopped pecans.
  • Pour the pecan mixture over the baked crust, spreading it evenly.
  • Return the dish to the oven and bake for an additional 30 minutes or until the filling is set.
  • Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

For an extra crunch, lightly toast the pecans before adding them to the filling.
