Instructions
Preparation Steps
Bring 4 cups of water to a boil.
Remove water from heat, add the family size black tea bag, and steep for 5 minutes.
Pour the brewed tea into a 2-quart pitcher and set aside.
In a medium saucepan, combine 0.75 cup sugar, 0.75 cup honey, and 1 cup water. Bring to a boil and stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
Add the pureed peaches to the saucepan and return to a low boil. Remove from heat and let cool.
Pour the peach syrup through a mesh sieve into a small bowl, pressing on the peach pulp to extract as much juice as possible. Discard the pulp.
Add peach syrup to the brewed tea, tasting as you go until desired sweetness is reached. For 4 cups of tea, 1 to 2 cups of syrup yields a pleasant sweetness.
To serve, divide frozen peaches between 4 glasses, add ice, and pour the peach tea over the peaches and ice.
Store any unused peach syrup refrigerated for future use.
Notes
Try using fresh peaches for a more vibrant flavor. The peach syrup can also be used as a topping for desserts or mixed into cocktails.
