Mom's Classic Fudge

A rich and creamy chocolate fudge recipe that's perfect for holidays or any time you need a sweet treat. Easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser!

  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup butter unsalted
  • 0.33 cup milk evaporated
  • 1.5 cups chocolate chips semi-sweet
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped nuts optional (walnuts or pecans)

Preparation Steps

  • Grease an 8x8 inch pan and set aside.
  • In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, combine sugar, butter, and evaporated milk. Stir constantly over medium heat until sugar is dissolved.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally. Continue to boil for 5 minutes.
  • Remove from heat. Stir in chocolate chips until melted and smooth.
  • Stir in vanilla extract and nuts (if using).
  • Pour the mixture into the prepared pan. Let it cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

For best results, use a candy thermometer to ensure the mixture reaches the correct temperature. Enjoy your homemade fudge!
