Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet with olive oil.
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, onion, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined; do not overmix.
Shape the mixture into 12 equal-sized meatballs, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
While meatballs bake, warm the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over low heat.
Slice the slider buns in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves on a serving platter.
Once meatballs are done, place one on each bottom bun. Top each with a spoonful of warm marinara sauce and a slice of cheese.
Cover with the top half of the bun. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh basil or parsley if desired.
Notes
For best results, use freshly grated Parmesan and high-quality marinara sauce. These sliders are best served immediately while the cheese is melted and the buns are soft.
