Instructions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet with olive oil.
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, egg, garlic, onion, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined; do not overmix.
  • Shape the mixture into 12 equal-sized meatballs, about 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until meatballs are cooked through and reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C).
  • While meatballs bake, warm the marinara sauce in a small saucepan over low heat.
  • Slice the slider buns in half horizontally. Place the bottom halves on a serving platter.
  • Once meatballs are done, place one on each bottom bun. Top each with a spoonful of warm marinara sauce and a slice of cheese.
  • Cover with the top half of the bun. Serve immediately, garnished with fresh basil or parsley if desired.

Notes

For best results, use freshly grated Parmesan and high-quality marinara sauce. These sliders are best served immediately while the cheese is melted and the buns are soft.
