Instant Pot Apple Crisp

Ingredients
  

Apple Filling

  • 6 large Granny Smith apples peeled and cubed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 0.25 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 0.5 teaspoon almond extract
  • 0.25 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 0.5 cup water

Crisp Topping

  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 0.5 cup old fashioned oats
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup light brown sugar packed
  • 0.04 pinch kosher salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon

Preparation Steps

  • Peel and cube apples into large chunks or slices. Combine with cinnamon, nutmeg, almond extract and brown sugar in the Instant Pot. Add water. Stir until combined.
  • Make the topping in a bowl by combining melted butter with oats, flour, brown sugar, kosher salt, and cinnamon. Sprinkle on TOP of the apples, but do not stir.
  • Lock the lid in place and select HIGH PRESSURE for a cook time of 3 minutes. When done cooking, do a quick release.
  • Serve warm with ice cream and caramel sauce!

Notes

For an oven version, skip the water and bake at 375°F for 30-35 minutes. Broil for 2-3 minutes to toast the topping.
