How to Whip Up a 5-Star Ham and Potato Au Gratin at Home

Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the prepared baking dish, followed by half of the diced ham.
Pour half of the heavy cream over the potatoes and ham. Sprinkle with half of the cheddar cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Repeat layers: potatoes, ham, cream, cheese, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Let stand for 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the cream mixture.
