Delicious, fudgy homemade brownies made from scratch with simple ingredients. Perfectly rich and chocolatey for any dessert occasion.

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.33 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (sifted)
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter (melted, then cooled) 1 stick
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and spray an 8x8-inch pan with non-stick spray.
  • Sift or whisk together granulated sugar, cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder in a large bowl.
  • Melt butter and set aside to cool.
  • In a medium bowl, beat the eggs and vanilla extract with a hand mixer.
  • Add the egg mixture and melted butter to the dry ingredients. Stir until just incorporated.
  • Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 20 to 22 minutes.

Notes

For extra gooey brownies, bake closer to 20 minutes. You can add chocolate chips or nuts if desired.
