Ham and Cheese Puff Pastry Pinwheels

  • 1 sheet puff pastry thawed
  • 0.5 cup dijon mustard
  • 0.5 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 0.25 cup finely chopped ham

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Unfold the thawed puff pastry sheet onto a lightly floured surface. If it's too cold, let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes until pliable.
  • Spread the Dijon mustard evenly over the puff pastry, leaving a small border around the edges.

  • Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese and chopped ham over the mustard layer.

  • Starting from one of the longer sides, tightly roll up the puff pastry into a log. Pinch the seam to seal.

  • Cut the log into 12 equal pinwheels (about 0.75 inches thick).
  • Place the pinwheels cut-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg wash.

  • Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
  • Let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

These can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving. They are delicious warm or at room temperature.
