Preparation Steps
Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
Add onion and mushrooms to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, salt, and pepper. Add beef broth and bring to a simmer.
Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, or until sauce has thickened slightly.
Serve hot over noodles or rice.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use heavy cream instead of sour cream. You can also add a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce for extra depth of flavor.
