Ground Beef Stroganoff

  • 1 lb Ground Beef 80/20 blend recommended
  • 1 cup Sliced Mushrooms
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 2 tablespoons Butter
  • 10.75 oz Cream of Mushroom Soup
  • 0.5 cup Sour Cream
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon Black Pepper
  • 0.5 cup Beef Broth

Preparation Steps

  • Brown ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  • Add onion and mushrooms to the skillet and cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
  • Stir in cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, salt, and pepper. Add beef broth and bring to a simmer.
  • Reduce heat and simmer for 10 minutes, or until sauce has thickened slightly.
  • Serve hot over noodles or rice.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use heavy cream instead of sour cream. You can also add a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce for extra depth of flavor.
