  • 1 lb Ground Beef 80/20 blend recommended
  • 1 package Brown Gravy Mix
  • 2 cups Water
  • 6 medium Potatoes Russet or Yukon Gold
  • 0.5 cup Milk Whole milk preferred
  • 4 tablespoons Butter Salted or unsalted

Preparation Steps

  • Peel and cube the potatoes. Boil in salted water until tender, about 15-20 minutes. Drain well.
  • While potatoes are boiling, brown the ground beef in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Drain off any excess grease.
  • Stir in the brown gravy mix and water. Bring to a simmer and cook until thickened, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Mash the drained potatoes with milk and butter until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Serve the ground beef and gravy over the mashed potatoes.

Notes

For a richer flavor, add a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce to the gravy. Garnish with chopped parsley for a fresh touch.
