This green bean casserole is a classic side dish perfect for any occasion, featuring crispy fried onions and a creamy mushroom sauce.

  • 1.5 pounds fresh green beans trimmed and halved
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup 10.5 ounces
  • 0.75 cup milk
  • 1.5 cups french-fried onions divided
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt to taste

Instructions
 

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large bowl, combine the green beans, mushroom soup, milk, and half of the french-fried onions. Stir well.
  • Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake for 25 minutes.
  • Top the casserole with the remaining french-fried onions and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the onions are crispy.

Notes

For an extra kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the mix.
