Green Bean Casserole

A classic American side dish featuring cream of mushroom soup, crispy fried onions, and fresh green beans baked to perfection.

  • 2 pounds fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 can condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 can French-fried onions

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the green beans and blanch for 4-5 minutes until tender-crisp. Drain well.
  • In a large bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper. Stir until smooth.
  • Add the drained green beans to the soup mixture and stir gently to coat.
  • Transfer the mixture to a greased 9x13-inch baking dish. Sprinkle the top evenly with French-fried onions.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until heated through and the onions are golden brown.
