Prep: 5 minutes minutes
Total: 5 minutes minutes
Ingredients
- 4 ounces vodka chilled
- 4 ounces coffee liqueur chilled
- 4 ounces freshly brewed espresso cooled
- 1 cup ice for shaking
- 6 whole coffee beans for garnish
Instructions
Brew the espresso and let it cool for a few minutes. Chill the vodka and coffee liqueur if they are not already cold.
Fill a cocktail shaker with the ice.
Add the vodka, coffee liqueur, and cooled espresso.
Shake vigorously for 15 to 20 seconds, until the shaker is very cold and a foamy layer forms.
Strain immediately into two chilled coupe or martini glasses.
Garnish each cocktail with three coffee beans and serve right away.
Use cooled espresso so the ice does not melt too quickly.
A hard shake creates the characteristic coffee foam.
