Ingredients
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 small onion chopped
- 4–5 cloves garlic minced
- 4 cups beef or chicken broth
- 1 15-ounce can corn drained
- 1 15-ounce can black beans drained and rinsed
- 1 15-ounce can chili beans in chili sauce
- 1 28-ounce can crushed tomatoes
- 1 4-ounce can chopped green chiles
- 1 tablespoon chili powder
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper to taste
- toppings such as shredded cheese, sour cream, avocado, or cilantro for serving
Instructions
Brown the ground beef and chopped onion in a large Dutch oven over medium-high heat until the beef is no longer pink. Add the garlic and cook for 2 minutes.
Stir in the broth, corn, black beans, chili beans, crushed tomatoes, green chiles, chili powder, cumin, oregano, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and cayenne.
Cover and simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until hot and the flavors come together. Serve with toppings of choice.
