Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat.
Add onion and garlic to the skillet; cook until softened, about 3-4 minutes.
Stir in rice, diced tomatoes with juice, tomato sauce, oregano, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer.
Transfer mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the top.
Bake uncovered for 40-45 minutes, or until rice is tender and cheese is melted and lightly golden.
Notes
Serve hot with a side salad or crusty bread for a complete meal.
