easy asian rice

A quick, flavorful Asian rice side dish perfect for stir‑fries.

  • 3 cup chicken stock
  • 1.5 cup jasmine rice
  • 1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 0.5 cup frozen peas optional
  • 0.5 teaspoon kosher salt optional
  • 2 each green onions thinly sliced

Preparation Steps

  • Combine the rice and chicken stock in a large saucepan, cover, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 18 minutes.
  • When the liquid is absorbed, drizzle soy sauce and sesame oil over the rice and toss to coat.
  • Stir in frozen peas if using, season with salt if needed, add the sliced green onions, cover briefly, and serve.

Notes

For a healthier version, substitute brown rice and increase the cooking liquid slightly.
