Crockpot Brisket

A tender and flavorful slow-cooked brisket made in the crockpot with simple seasonings and onions for a melt-in-your-mouth meal.

  • 3.5 pounds beef brisket
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Preparation Steps

  • In a small bowl, mix together smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, black pepper, and cumin to create a dry rub.
  • Pat the brisket dry with paper towels, then rub the spice mixture evenly over all sides of the meat.
  • Place sliced onions and minced garlic in the bottom of the crockpot.
  • Place the seasoned brisket on top of the onions, fat side up.
  • Pour beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over the brisket.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8 hours, or until the brisket is fork-tender.
  • Remove brisket from the crockpot and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
  • Serve with onions from the crockpot and optional pan juices.

For best results, choose a well-marbled brisket and do not skip the resting period—it ensures maximum tenderness.
