Preparation Steps
Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
Layer the potatoes, browned ground beef, and cheese in the Crock-Pot.
Pour the cream of mushroom soup evenly over the top.

Notes
For a spicier version, add a pinch of cayenne pepper.
