Crock Pot Baked Beans

This slow-cooked baked beans recipe is a perfect side dish for any barbecue or family gathering, with a rich, smoky, and slightly sweet flavor.

  • 1.5 cups dried navy beans soaked overnight and drained
  • 8 oz bacon diced
  • 1 cup onion chopped
  • 3 tablespoons molasses
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups water

Preparation Steps

  • Place the soaked and drained beans in the crock-pot.
  • In a skillet, cook the diced bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and add to crock-pot.
  • In the same skillet, cook the onion until translucent. Add to the crock-pot.
  • Add the molasses, mustard, ketchup, salt, pepper, and water to the crock-pot. Stir to combine.
  • Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until beans are tender.
  • Stir well before serving.

Notes

For additional smokiness, consider adding a smoked ham hock during cooking.
