Instructions
Preparation Steps
Place the soaked and drained beans in the crock-pot.
In a skillet, cook the diced bacon until crispy. Remove bacon and add to crock-pot.
In the same skillet, cook the onion until translucent. Add to the crock-pot.
Add the molasses, mustard, ketchup, salt, pepper, and water to the crock-pot. Stir to combine.
Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until beans are tender.
Stir well before serving.
Notes
For additional smokiness, consider adding a smoked ham hock during cooking.
