Crispy Onion Patties

Delicious and easy to make crispy onion patties, perfect as a snack or appetizer.

  • 2 large onions thinly sliced
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg beaten
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil for frying

Preparation Steps

  • In a medium bowl, combine the sliced onions, flour, beaten egg, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all onions are coated.
  • Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Carefully drop spoonfuls of the onion mixture into the hot oil, flattening them slightly with the back of the spoon.
  • Fry for about 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  • Remove the onion patties from the skillet and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
  • Serve hot as a delicious appetizer or side dish.

Notes

These onion patties can be served with your favorite dipping sauce, such as ketchup, aioli, or a spicy mayo.
