Chocolate Chip Brownies

  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup cocoa powder
  • 0.25 tsp salt

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  • In a large bowl, combine melted butter and granulated sugar. Add eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until smooth.
  • Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  • Fold in chocolate chips and pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.
  • Allow to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve.

Notes

For a nutty flavor, try adding a handful of chopped walnuts or pecans to the batter.
