Preparation Steps
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line an 8x8 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
In a large bowl, combine melted butter and granulated sugar. Add eggs and vanilla extract, whisking until smooth.
Sift in flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
Fold in chocolate chips and pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, spreading it evenly.
Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.
Allow to cool in the pan for 15 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely. Cut into squares and serve.
Notes
For a nutty flavor, try adding a handful of chopped walnuts or pecans to the batter.
