Chinese Beef Broccoli

A quick and easy recipe for delicious Chinese Beef and Broccoli, perfect for a weeknight meal.

  • 0.5 pound flank steak thinly sliced
  • 1 pound broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated

Sauce Ingredients

  • 0.25 cup soy sauce
  • 0.25 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar

Preparation Steps

  • In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, beef broth, oyster sauce, cornstarch, sesame oil, and brown sugar. Set aside.
  • Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.

  • Add beef to the skillet and stir-fry until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.

  • Add broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for 2 minutes. Add minced garlic and grated ginger, and stir-fry for another minute until fragrant.

  • Return the beef to the skillet. Pour the prepared sauce over the beef and broccoli. Stir and cook until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  • Serve immediately over steamed rice.

Notes

For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
