  • 8 oz elbow macaroni uncooked
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese sharp
  • 1 cup milk whole
  • 2 tbsp butter unsalted
  • 1 tsp Cajun seasoning adjust for spice preference
  • 1 tbsp flour all-purpose

Preparation Steps

  • Cook the macaroni according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour and Cajun seasoning until smooth.
  • Gradually whisk in milk and bring to a boil. Cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
  • Reduce heat to low. Stir in cheese until melted and smooth. Add the cooked macaroni, tossing gently to coat.

Notes

Feel free to add cooked chicken, shrimp, or sausage for additional protein.
