banana bread recipe

A classic and moist banana bread recipe that's easy to make and incredibly delicious. Perfect for breakfast or a snack!

  • 3 large ripe bananas mashed
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 0.75 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs lightly beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon cinnamon ground

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan.
  • In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas. Stir in the melted butter and sugar until well combined.
  • Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
  • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the banana bread cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Optional: You can add nuts like walnuts or pecans, or chocolate chips to the batter for extra flavor and texture.
