bakery-style brownies

These bakery-style brownies are incredibly fudgy and rich, with a perfect crackly top that will transport you straight to your favorite bakery. Easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser!

  • 0.75 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1.5 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup chocolate chips optional

Preparation Steps

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  • In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and granulated sugar. Stir in the cocoa powder and salt until well combined.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract. Then, whisk in the eggs one at a time until fully incorporated.
  • Gently fold in the flour until just combined. Do not overmix. If using, stir in the chocolate chips.
  • Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter).
  • Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.

Notes

For an extra rich brownie, you can add chopped nuts along with the chocolate chips. Ensure the brownies are fully cooled for the cleanest cuts.
