1tablespoonmaple syrup or brown sugaroptional, for glaze
Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil for easy cleanup.
Wash and trim the tough ends from the asparagus spears. Pat dry with a paper towel.
If using, toss asparagus with olive oil, salt, and pepper in a bowl until lightly coated.
Cut each bacon slice in half crosswise. Wrap each half-slice around 3–4 asparagus spears, starting at the bottom and spiraling toward the tip. Secure with a toothpick if needed.
Arrange the bacon-wrapped asparagus bundles on the prepared baking sheet, seam side down, leaving space between each.
Optional: Brush lightly with maple syrup or sprinkle with brown sugar for a sweet glaze.
Bake in the preheated oven for 18–22 minutes, or until bacon is crispy and asparagus is tender.
Remove from oven and let cool for 2–3 minutes before serving. Serve warm.
Notes
For best results, choose thin-cut bacon so it crisps up nicely without overcooking the asparagus. This dish pairs wonderfully with a light salad or as part of a charcuterie board.
